One of the most effective things you can do to market your Wordpress blog is to submit articles to article directories.

When folks ask me “how to blog” I first recommend they setup a Wordpress blog and post to it regularly, and the second thing I always recommend is they submit articles to article directories.
When you submit articles, you have the opportunity to market your blog to a wide audience and that audience will use your article in a few different ways:


1.  They will read what you’ve written, like it, and visit your blog to learn more about you and your products or services.  That equals blog traffic.


2.  They will like what you’ve written so much that they will want to use your article on their own blog.  That equals a backlink.


3.  They will subscribe to one of your free offers either from your blog or directly from your resource box.  That equals a subscriber.


So how will they do any or all of the above?

When you create an article for submission, you will include a “Resource Box”.


In the resource box you want to include a link to a free gift they can immediately download. On that free gift page they visit, you want to include a link to your Wordpress blog.


When someone wishes to use your article on their own blog, they must include the resource box.


So whether folks reading the article simply want to visit you for more information, or download your free gift, or use your article for their own blog, YOU WIN!

So the question here is: “DO I really need to know HTML programming to be a successful blogger?”

The answer is definitely “NO”.But what I did learn just recently is that you can use article marketing to drive more traffic to your wordpress blog.

There is some debate as to whether you should post on your blog first or submit the article first. Katie and I believe that you should definitely publish your blog post first so that the search engines know that the content originated on your blog.


When I submitted my first article to ezinearticles I found that I could make my article more readable using the simple HTML code that was right there on the article submission page. However, it took me a while to figure it out. The how to video below shows you what I learned through trial and error (or maybe it was trial and terror).
